People are Friends in India

The title of this blog comes from one of the most marked observations I made while in India: there seems to be a camaraderieĀ and genuine interest in meaningful conversations amongst friends, unlike anywhere I’ve ever been. Every where we went, people sat in twosomes or more engaging fully with one another, without the constant distraction of mobile phones. It would seem one of the favorite pastimes is just being anywhere with friends, talking. Seems simple and obvious, but it was very refreshing to see since you can watch a family of four spend an evening out to dinner with all four of them glued to their phones in one way or another.

As some of you may know, I got incredibly and unfortunately sick during this visit to India, meaning two things: I didn’t get a lot of the pictures I wanted, and I’ll have to go back sometime soon and be more mindful next time. Lesson learned.

We’re Not in Maui Anymore…

ligThe snow that’s been hitting the rest of the country has finally hit us at home and it’s a rude awakening that we’re not on vacation in Hawaii anymore. But I can’t rightly complain too much since we leave for Mumbai on Sunday, so I guess I’ll weather a little snow for a day or two. Here are theĀ final snapshot memories of beautiful Maui. Keep an eye out for pictures all the way from India!
